N’Golo Kante was born March 29, 1991 in Paris to Malian parents who migrated to France in 1980, from Mali. He was raised in Rueil-Malmaison, Hauts-de-Seine. When he turned eleven, his father pass away, leaving him devastated.

Kante got his name N’Golo after King N’Golo Diarra of the Bamana Empire. Kante’s younger sister also payed in the youth ranks of Suresnes. While growing up, Kante used to idolized Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Diego Maradona.
He holds a diploma in Vocational accounting, a certificate he obtained while also playing for Boulogne at age 21.
Kante began working as a garbage collector, traveling miles around the eastern part of Paris looking for all sorts of important waste to pick up and dispose of at a small recycling plant for quick cash.
N’Golo Kante knew that recycling would not feed his family, so he looked for opportunities to make more money, and began aspiring to be a soccer player like any other African national team in the French National Team.
Kanté made his senior debut with Boulogne in 2012 after previously playing for the club’s reserves. He came on as a substitute for one Ligue 2 game, and played all season in the third division the following year. He then signed a contract with Ligue 2 side Caen on a free transfer, where he helped the Club to finished third and secure promotion to Ligue 1. He played for the club for one more year.
In 2015, Kanté Leicester City acquired the services of N’Golo Kante for a fee of £ 5.6 million and was pivotal to their first Premier League win. The following year, he signed a five year contract with Chelsea for £ 32 million and went on to win the English Premier league, making him the first foreign player to win consecutive English league titles with various clubs since Eric Cantona in 1992 and 1993.
He has scooped the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year, FA Cup, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Champions League titles. He was named the midfielder for the UEFA Men’s of the year in 2021.
N’Golo Kanté made his first international appearance for France in 2016 and was included in the team that finished second in the 2016 European Championship. In 2017 Kanté was named France Player of the Year, the first player from the Premier League in seven years, and twelve months later became an integral member of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winning team.
