Xiaomi as expected today has officially announced Redmi Note 5 in India, the company’s latest addition to its Redmi product portfolio. It has identical specs and body design as the Redmi 5 Plus that was introduced in China in December last year.
In build, the phone is clad in a full metal unibody that is 8.05mm thick at its thinnest point, weighing just 179.5 grams. It features the modern 18:9 Full Screen display with a brilliant Full HD+ (2160p) pixel resolution, and under-the-hood is an octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset clubbed with Adreno 506 GPU.

The Redmi Note 5 is offered in 3GB RAM+32GB storage and 4GB RAM+64GB storage versions, both expandable via a MicroSD slot provided. It runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box just like last year Redmi 5 Plus with Xiaomi’s MIUI 9.2 on top. It has a fingerprint sensor at the back and is powered by a 3000mAh battery.
