Palm, the once great California technology company that dominated the world of mobile a decade ago with its futuristic compact device, but was later bought by HP, and the brand later acquired by TCL, has foray into the Android ecosystem with the launch of its new tiny device called Palm. Yes Palm.

The Palm phone will have a small footprint as it will be Verizon-exclusive in the U.S – there is no global launch in sight. The Palm is not really a phone as it lacked some basic features that makes a phone a phone, it will be more appropriate to classified it as a value-added accessory. Why? because you cannot make a call or receive a call with it without first pairing it with another phone.

Verizon number share service got this covered though. All you need to do is activate the service (this should be enabled by default if you are buying the Palm) and paired it with your existing phone. The Palm however, does not fully relied on the host phone to access the internet, it comes with its own LTE connectivity.

Technically, it features a 3.3-inch HD (1280×720) touch-responsive display that boasts of a pixel density of 445PPI. Powering the device is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 Mobile Platform running at a speed of 1.4GHz, paired with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 505 GPU. It has a 32GB inbuilt storage that is expandable up to 128GB via a MicroSD card.

The photography is handled by a 12MP rear-facing camera accompanied by a LED flash, and an 8MP front camera. The phone is IP68 water resistant, so, you can use it while bathing, in the rain, or when you just feel like splashing the water. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo, has Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity in addition to 4G LTE, and is backed by an 800mAh battery.

The Palm phone is themed in Gold and Titanium colors. The unlocked version goes for $349, but it can also be purchased on a 2 years contract that cost $14.58 per month.
