Panasonic has launched an upgraded series of its Eluga U smartphone in Taiwan dubbed as Eluga U2. The phone was secretly announced by the firm on Saturday with no words on global availability, it comes with a price tag of NT$ 7990 (Roughly $255 USD).
Unlike Eluga U that was launched last year with Android 4.4 KitKat, the new Panasonic Eluga U2 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box which is the main highlight of the device. It features a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display with OGS and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, clocked at 1.2GHz along with 2GB of RAM. It support dual-SIM functionality and 4G LTE.
The Eluga U2 sports a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and houses a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie shot. The device comes with an expandable 16GB storage and offers Wifi, Bluetooth, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, GPS/A-GPS, Micro-USB, and FM radio as connectivity options. It is backed by a 2500mAh battery.
