Firstly, the Toughbook CF-54 weigh less than 2kg (1.99kg to be precise) with the inner to outside casing made of magnesium for extra toughness that can support up to 100kg weight and 20kg point pressure on the lid without cracking or breaking, thanks to its honeycomb design. It will work seamlessly in temperature below -10°C and survive a fall of 76cm height. The Toughbook CF-54 is splash-proof too and its handle makes it easy to be carry around. Specwise, the newly ushered Panasonic laptop comes in various configurations with different pricing; a 14-inch model with HD (720p) display and 500GB HDD storage is priced at £1,142 ($1,750 USD), 14-inch model with full-HD (1080p) and 128GB SSD storage at £1,325 ($2,030 USD), while the 14-inch touchscreen model start at £1662 ($2,545 USD). The Panasonic Toughbook CF-54 is powered by a fifth-generation Intel Core i5-5300U vPro chip, coupled with 4GB of RAM, while there is also an Intel Core i7 option depending on users preference.
On the connectivity front, the notebook supports rugged USB, dual-LAN, a dedicated GPS, and other options that an user can select base on his/her interest. Windows 8.1 Pro governs the software activities and its battery is rated to deliver up to 11 hours of use in a single charge (18 hours battery option also available).
The Panasonic Toughbook CF-54 is expected to arrive in late February.
