Realme X2 Launches with Snapdragon 730G, 64MP Quad Rear Camera

The Realme X2 today launched in China, bringing with it Waterdrop Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 730G 8nm mobile chipset, and quad rear-facing camera among which is a 64MP main sensor. Realme will be selling the phone at select stores in China from today, September 24th.

In all essence, the Realme X2 is more or less the Realme XT that was introduced in India recently, their only difference being the processor and the front camera.

The phone features a 6.4-inch Full HD (2340×1080) Super AMOLED display with 500 nits of brightness, protected on the surface by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The 32MP front camera that resides inside the waterdrop notch positioned at the center of the screen has a moderately-bright f/2.0 aperture for low light capture.

At the rear of the Realme X2 are four cameras; the primary has a 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 0.8μm pixel size, the secondary is an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens (119°) with an f/2.25 aperture, the tertiary 2MP f/2.4 camera is made to capture the depth of field, while the fourth is a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens for taking close shots. AI scene recognition, Super nightscape, Chrome boost, and Expert mode are some of the pro-camera features that users will have fun playing with.

An in-display fingerprint sensor tends to biometric security, while the softwares are governed by the Android 9.0 Pie based ColorOS 6.0. Speaking of the hardware, as earlier mentioned, the Realme X2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G octa-core chipset clocked at 2.2GHz, paired with Adreno 618 GPU.

The phone is offered in different variant; the basic version have 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, while the high-end version have 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The storage is not eMMc but UFS 2.1. Moreover, the storage can be expanded up to 256GB via Micro-SD. There is a dedicated dual SIM slot onboard as well that can accept two SIM cards at a time.

Apart from USB Type-C, other connectivity the device supports are Bluetooth 5.0, Wifi 802.11ac (dual band), Dual 4G VoLTE, 3G, GPS/GLONASS, and 3.5mm audio jack. It measures 158.7×75.2×8.6mm, weighs 182 grams, and is backed by a 4000mAh battery with supports VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge.

The 6GB/64GB version is priced at CN¥ 1599 (US$224), while the 8GB/128GB version costs CN¥ 1899 (US$266). Realme is offering CN¥ 100 discount on purchases from September 24th to 26th. Buyers have the option to select between Pearl White or Pearl Blue colors when ordering the Realme X2.
