Samsung has officially launched a new Android tablet for India market at an event hosted in Bangkok earlier today. The Galaxy Tab Active as it was named will be available for purchase at Rs 52,000 (approximately $835 USD) starting from next month (March).
The tablet comes with a rugged body which can retain a 1.2m fall thereby making it shockproof and it also earn IP67 certification for water resistant and dustproof. The Galaxy Tab Active features an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It support single SIM with voice calling options while there is also 4G LTE onboard as well.

Android 4.4 KitKat governs all internal activities and there’s a 1.2GHz quad-core processor (unknown chipset) topped with 1.5GB inside that powers the device. The tablet packs a 16GB built-in storage which is expandable up to 64GB via MicroSD card and offers Wifi, Bluetooth, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, and NFC as connectivity options.

At the rear, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active sports a 3.1-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash while it also touts a 1.2-megapixel front camera. It is backed by a 4450mAh removable battery.
