The Samsung new flip phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform for undiluted raw power. The W2018 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box which is disappointing ofcourse, but then, Samsung has integrated its AI-powered Bixby assistant deep into the OS to offer modern support, which can now communicate 100-percent in Chinese. The Bixby has a dedicated button too. Moreover, Samsung promised to release Android Oreo update for the device sometime next year.

For security, a fingerprint scanner is embedded at the back for biometric authentication. The W2018 claims world’s first mobile device to feature an f/1.5 aperture 12MP rear camera, a joy killer for the LG V30 that was previously holding the highest rank with its f/1.6 camera. A LED flash is placed beside the camera for lighting. The rear camera can record video in 4K resolution.

Connectivity options provided with the W2018 includes Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 802.11ac (dual band), 4G LTE, 3G, GPS + GLONASS, and NFC. It is fuelled by a 2300mAh battery with wireless charging.
