There are certain signs to look out for to be able to identify it correctly.
These are the most common signs that you might be depressed and should consult your doctor.
You feel down and alone all the time
For a couple of days in a row, you find yourself not having enough energy even though nothing has really changed from your routine. You always feel alone and unwanted.
You feel worthless and undeserving to be alive
You may start to believe from time to time that you are useless. Most times, suicidal thoughts cross your mind and you may have no fear of death since you see no point in living.
You have concentration/memory problems
You start forgetting about the important things and mostly forget things as easy as a phone number or an important date in your life. You find it difficult to read or listen to anyone since you cannot focus on what is going on.
Constant sleep problems
You may have trouble sleeping or even crave more sleep even after sleeping for long hours even after a long night in bed.
Nothing brings you pleasure
Even the things and people that normally make you so happy and joyous do not have that impact on you anymore. You find yourself very bored constantly. This can be a clear sign.
Your mood is down
You feel constantly sad, anxious, or irritated and you can’t really know the exact reason it is like that.
If all these conditions continue, then it could be a sign of depression. It is advisable to talk to a doctor if you or your family or friends show signs of depression.
Talking to a professional psychologist is the most common treatment for depression. Other treatments can also be adding extra physical activity, electro- or magnetic simulation, and other kinds of treatment.
