Sony Introduced MP-CD1 Pocket-Size Multifunctional Projector at CES2018

Sony MP-CD1 Mobile Projector

Sony at the CES 2018 event announced a new compact pocket-size multifunctional mobile projector that can beam an image size of up to 120-inch on a wall dubbed MP-CD1. The tiny device measures just 83.0×16.0x150mm and weighs only 281 grams, which is nearly the size of most portable power bank available in the market.

The MP-CD1 is multifunctional in the sense that it can be use alongside with other external devices. It has an HDMI input that can accept most HDMI-enabled peripheral devices like laptops, smartphones, tablets, streaming dongles, and even a gaming console. When connected with any of these devices, the MP-CD1 can be use as an external display/monitor in projecting the contents on a larger surface, whether for presentation or for fun. An USB-C port is also provided.

Sony MP-CD1 specs

According to Sony, the projector uses Texas Instruments DLP® IntelliBright™ technology with a rated ANSI 105 Lumens of brightness in combination with image-processing algorithm for brighter and brilliant display without taking tow on power consumption. The MP-CD1 has a 5000mAh built-in battery that let users catch up and enjoy their favorite show anywhere anytime without a standby power supply. The battery can render 2 hours of projection time in a single charge.

Moreover, the projector gigantic battery can be use as a power bank for charging other portable gadgets, thanks to the accompanied reversible USB-C port which also acts as the charging port. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack for connecting external speakers.

Sony will be selling the MP-CD1 mobile projector for $399.99 when it goes on sale in Spring 2018.
