Along with Xperia C5 Ultra, Sony also launched its new waterproof smartphone named Xperia M5. Its pricing is not mentioned but the device will start shipping from mid-August in selected regions. The phone comes in dual-SIM variant named as Xperia M5 Dual with support of two SIMs at a time.
The Sony Xperia M5 is an upgraded variant and successor of Xperia M4 Aqua that was launched at MWC in early March. It is waterproof certified with 1P65/IP68 ratings and comes in OmniBalance design, sporting glass finish on both sides. Its camera is also worth taking a look at, sitting at the back is a 21.5-megapixel hybrid-autofocus camera with Sony IMX230 sensor, Phase detection and 5x Clear Image Zoom which can be access by tapping a dedicated camera key placed the right-hand side. The Xperia M5 also looks promising when it comes to taking selfie, at the front is a 13-megapixel hybrid-autofocus camera with Exmor RS sensor that can record full-HD (1080p) video.

In general aspect, the smartphone features a 5-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS capacitive touchscreen display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795T) processor clocked at 2.2GHz alongside with 3GB of RAM and PowerVR G6200 GPU.
There is a 16GB of built-in storage onboard which is further expandable up to 200GB via MicroSD card. On the connectivity front, the Sony Xperia M5 includes 4G LTE, 3G (HSPA+), Bluetooth 4.1, Wifi, 2G, GPS/A-GPS, FM radio, NFC, and Micro-USB. It is fuelled by a 2600mAh battery with STAMINAL mode.
