Sony Xperia Z5 Series Starts Receiving Android 7.0 Nougat Officially

Sony has started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update to its Xperia Z5 family. The announcement which was made on the company’s blog today revealed that few Xperia Z5 series including Xperia Z5 Premium will start receiving the update starting today.

Sony in August last year openly confirmed its smartphones that will be eligible to receive Android Nougat update most of which had already did, however, the Z5’s will be the first this year to claim the blessing. As could be expected, the update brings new features including multi-window mode, enhanced notification, and new home launcher with “Google Now” baked inside.

The new firmware with build number “32.3.A.0.372” promised increase in battery life with new three-way power saving in STAMINAL mode. The front camera also gets a new self-timer button. Xperia Z5 users will get it first before other series such as Xperia Z5 Compact follows. Nougat will also be made available for Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet soon, according to Sony.
