Toshiba Unleashed World’s First 12.5″ 4K Windows 10 Convertible Laptop

With less than 36 hours remaining for IFA to kick off in Berlin, Toshiba has join the league of those that’ll be taking part in the event with its new beast, aimed specifically to rival Apple’s Macbook, the Satellite Radius 12. The new convertible laptop/tablet hybrid device runs Windows 10 out-of-the-box and comes with a whooping 4K display.

Toshiba is one of the firm that likes giving out surprises in an unexpected way. Its new Satellite Radius 12 features a 12.5-inch LED touchscreen with 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution, making it the world’s first 12.5-inch Windows laptop to do so. It is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor (6th generation), coupled with 8GB of DDR3 RAM and Intel HD Graphics 520, and has a built-in 512GB M.2 SATA solid state drive.

Buyers can also opt-in for full-HD model with lower components depending on their pocket. In connectivity aspect, the device offers 2x USB 3.0 ports, USB 3.1 Type-C port, Wifi with dual band, Bluetooth 4.0, and 4K-capable HDMI port. The Toshiba Satellite Radius 12 4K model can renders up to 4 hours of battery life, while the full-HD model can last up to 8 hours.

Toshiba is yet to reveal its pricing, but the device will start shipping before Q4 2015 ends. It might as well be showcased at IFA, who knows?
