All candidates that register for JAMB are required to sit for 4 subjects in their UTME, with the Use Of English being the first and compulsory for all(irrespective of department or course) .

A lot of candidates want to study Agricultural Engineering in different institutions. The question that comes to their mind is, “What is the JAMB subject combination for Agricultural Engineering?“. That is the exact question I will answer in this article.

According to Wikipedia, Agricultural engineering is the engineering discipline that studies agricultural production and processing. Agricultural engineering combines the disciplines of mechanical, civil, electrical and chemical engineering principles with a knowledge of agricultural principles according to technological principles.

JAMB Subject Combination for Agricultural Engineering include the four subjects(English+3 other subjects) you are required to take in JAMB in order to qualify for admission.

Olevel requirements for  Agricultural Engineering include the minimum grades you should have in WAEC/NECO/GCE in order to qualify for admission.

Direct entry requirements for Agricultural Engineering contain the minimum UTME and O’level requirements needed to gain admission directly into 200L to study Agricultural Engineering.

  • Use of English(Compulsory).
  • Mathematics.
  • Physics and.
  • Chemistry.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) BAUCHI accepts Agricultural Science or Biology.

(ii) LANDMARK accepts Agricultural Science or Biology in lieu of Chemistry.

(iii) OOU requires any three (3) of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science.

WAEC/O’Level Requirements For Agricultural Engineering

If you want to study Agricultural Engineering, the minimum O’level requirement for Agricultural Engineering and Subject needed can be found below.

  • English Language (Minimum:credit)
  • Mathematics (Minimum:credit)
  • Cehmistry (Minimum:credit)
  • Physics (Minimum:credit)
  • Credit in any of the subjects below.

You require; Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any from Intro. to Agric Sc. or Materials & Workshop Process and Machining, Tractor Layout Power Unit Under Carriage and Auto Electricity;Transmission System;Implement and Machine;Principles of Crop Husbandry and Land Use,Materials and Workshop Processes; Construction and Maintenance of Agricultural Machines; general Metal Work; General Wood Work and Building/Engineering Drawing.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) ABU prefers ‘O’ level credit pass in Biology/Geography or Agricultural Science as the fifth subject.

(ii) American University of Nigeria (AUE) accept ‘O’ level credit pass in Biology or Agricultural Science as the fifth subject.

(iii) BAUCHI accepts Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.

(iv) BAYERO requires five (5) ‘O’ level passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry

(v) ESUTECH accepts ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language and all relevant subjects.

(vi) FED-OYE EKITI – Same as in Mechanical Engineering. Accepts ND in Agricultural Engineering.

(vii) FUNAAB requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.

(viii) FUTA requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other Science subject at not more than two (2)
sittings.

(ix) FUTO accepts any other Science subject as the fifth subject and at not more than two (2) sittings.

(x) LANDMARK requires ‘O’ level credit pass from any of the following as the fifth subject: Further Mathematics, Biology, Fishery, Agricultural Science and Technical Drawing.

(xi) LAUTECH and BAUCHI accept Biology in lieu of Agricultural Science.

(xii) MAKURDI requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any two (2) of English Language, Biology or Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Geography and Economics. Also accepts Federal Craft Certificate or WAEC Technical. All candidates must have obtained at least ‘O’ level pass in English Language.

Direct Entry Requirements For Agricultural Engineering

Below is the direct entry requirements for Agricultural Engineering:

(i) ABU does not accept First degree holders but accepts;

  • ‘A’ level/IJMB passes or equivalents in Physics and Mathematics.
  • ND upper credit or distinction in Agricultural Engineering and Agricultural Bio Resources Engineering or related from accredited institution.
  • HND in Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Bio Resources Engineering or related from accredited institution.

(ii) ABUAD and LAUTECH – Same as in Chemical Engineering.

(iii) Federal University, Oye-ekiti – Same as in Mechanical Engineering.

(iv) FUNAAB and MAUTECH accepts `A’ level passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or equivalents. FUNAAB accepts ND upper credit in Agricultural Engineering or relevant programmes

(v) FUTA accepts ND upper credit level or equivalent professional qualification in Agricultural Engineering. or ‘A’ level passes at one sitting in at
least two (2) of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology

(vi) FUTO requires two (2) ‘A’ level passes not below C in Physics and Mathematics. Accepts ND/HND upper credit level in Engineering. Candidates must
in addition meet UTME requirements. It does not accept first degree or NCE.

(vii) FUAM accepts;

  • two (2) `A’ level/IJMB passes in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • HND upper credit and first class degree in relevant programmes.
  • HND lower credit/ND upper credit, and NCE Technical.
  • NCE credit in relevant programmes plus UTME requirements.
