Yet it turns out that coconut oil might not be the lord savior of all things skin-related after all. Why do we say so?

Here is why you should never put coconut oil on your face especially if you suffer from acne.

  • Coconut oil will block your pores causing you to break out
  • Coconut oil is highly comedogenic ( ingredients or products that have a tendency to block pores) and it forms a barrier on your skin that can block and suffocate pores.
  • If you have oily skin and are prone to acne avoid using Coconut oil on your face. This is because it can block your pores and acne forms when oil and dead skin cells clog up pores.

If you use coconut oil as a face moisturizer and it doesn’t work for you consider using other oils like Argan and Jojoba or try an oil-free moisturizer
