ZTE has took the wraps off its new smartphone in China on Monday. The new device named Blade S7 is a more powerful variant and successor of Blade S6 launched by the company in January. Unlike its predecessor, the Blade S7 sports a curved aluminium frame with a body thickness of 7.2mm, which is 0.5mm slimmer than the first.

Besides the difference in physical aspects, there is a bump up in innard specifications as well. The ZTE Blade S7 features a 5-inch LTPS capacitive touchscreen display with a full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, touting a pixel density of 445ppi with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top for protection against scratch and shock. This is an upgrade from HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution on its predecessor. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz alongside with 3GB of DDR3 RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. It has a built-in storage of 32GB which is further expandable via MicroSD card.
The smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box topped with MiFavor 3.2 UI, and has two SIM slots for dual usage, both of which support 4G LTE. Also, it has a fingerprint sensor embedded below the physical home button for smart security and authentication. In photography arena, the Blade S7 sports a dual 13-megapixel camera, one equipped at the rear and the other at the front. The rear camera possess Laser Auto Focus and LED flash, while the camera at the front has Phase Detection Auto Focus and a single LED flash placed besides it for best selfie shots.
Connectivity options included besides 4G LTE are Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi 802.11ac, 3G, 2G, GPS, FM radio and Micro-USB. It is fuelled by a 2500mAh battery.
The ZTE Blade S7 will first go on sale Thailand after which it will role out to other selected Asia markets. No words on pricing and global availability yet.
