The Chinese technology firm Meizu, today has introduced its first fitness tracking band at an event in China. The Meizu Band as named can track steps, walk, sleep, calories burnt and other recreational activities just like other smart bands available in the market. Apart from its tracking abilities, the band can also monitor heart rate via its built-in heart rate sensor located at the bottom.
The device features an OLED display of unknown size and resolution that let users read activities data in real-time. It is water and dust resistant certify with IP67 rating, making it usable while bathing or when raining. The Band can be easily connect with smartphones running Android OS as well as iOS via Bluetooth to receive incoming calls and texts notifications, which is made known to the wearer by vibration.

For wake up call, the smart band is pre-loaded with alarm feature with “silent vibrating” option available. It measures 58×16.2×11.8mm and weigh 20 grams. According to Meizu, battery inside can deliver up to 15 days of use with heart rate monitoring off and 7 days when on.
Pre-orders for the new Meizu Band kick-start today with a price tag of CNY 229 (US$ 33), it will go on sale in China from December 9.
