The Taiwanese phone manufacturer HTC, has announced a new flagship smartphone in the United States exclusively on network carrier Sprint called Bolt. The device is clad in an aluminium body that is water repellant (IP57), measuring 153.6×77.3×8.1mm. Notably, on the negative part, HTC has decided to tread on Apple path by removing the 3.5mm audio jack and has instead opted to deliver audio over USB Type-C connection. On the positive part, the HTC Bolt runs Google’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat with Sense UI on top, making it the company’s first device to runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
The HTC Bolt features a 5.5-inch S-LCD 3 display with a brilliant QHD (2560×1440) resolution and pixel density of 534ppi, protected on the surface by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is driven on the inside by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 clocked at 2.0GHz, slammed with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 430 GPU. It includes a 32GB of built-in storage that is expandable via MicroSD card. For enhanced music experience, the phone is loaded with 24-bit Hi-Res audio and BoomSound.

In photography, the Bolt is equipped with a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and twin-tone LED flash, capable of recording 4K and slow motion video, while an 8-megapixel camera is placed at the front for taking selfie. Connectivity options included with the device are Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11ac (dual band), 4G LTE Cat.9, 3G, 2G, GPS/A-GPS + GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C. It is backed by a 3200mAh battery.
The HTC Bolt is painted in Glacier Silver and Gunmetal Grey colors. It is available on Sprint in U.S with 2 years contract payment at $25 per month.
In addition to specs written above, the HTC Bolt also packs a fingerprint scanner beneath the physical home button located at the front below the display for smart security and authentication.
