Huawei earlier this week launched Honor 8 with dual rear cameras in China. Today, the company has again announced a new mid-level smartphone in the region called Maimang 5, a succesor of Maimang 4 released in mid 2015, which happened to be Chinese variant of Huawei G8. So, from the little history of Maimang, we do not expect it to exist outside China wall. It may as well launch as G9 internationally but there is no official confirmation on that.
The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow topped with EMUI 4.1, and sports a fingerprint sensor at the rear below the camera. It comes in two variants, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version, both supporting external MicroSD expansion slots (up to 128GB). The Maimang 5 features a 5.5-inch full-HD display; is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset, and packs a 3340mAh battery at the back.
