The Korean tech company, LG, has made a new addition to its K series smartphone. The LG K5 as named was announced earlier today, it will start shipping in Latin America, Europe and CIS regions starting this week, however, its pricing details is not mentioned.
The new LG K5 is the fourth smartphone in “K” category, the first, second and third being K4, K7 and K10, all of which were also introduced in 2016. Specwise, it features a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 854×480 pixels. It is powered by a quad-core processor (unspecified) clocked at 1.3GHz, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in storage with external storage support via MicroSD card.

The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop topped with the company’s UX and offers single SIM functionality with no 4G LTE support. At the rear, the K5 packs a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, while it harbours a 2-megapixel camera at the front. Connectivity options included are Bluetooth 4.1, Wifi, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, GPS and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 1900mAh battery.
The phone measures 145×71.6×8.9mm and comes in Gold, Silver and Titan colour options.
Along with k5, LG also officially launched K8. The device went on sale in some regions in February, but LG has further disclose that the phone will start shipping in Asia, Africa, Latin America, Middle East and CIS regions this week.
The LG K8 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. It features 5-inch HD (1280×720) IPS display, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 1GB/1.5GB of RAM (region dependent), 8GB built-in storage, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, and 2125mAh battery.
