Samsung earlier this month released 2016 edition of its Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 in China. Today, the firm has unveiled a new edition of its Galaxy Alpha smartphone. The Galaxy A9 2016 as named was teased by Samsung on its official Weibo account, revealing some of its specifications while retaining its availability and pricing.

As confirmed, the Galaxy A9 2016 features a 6-inch 2.5D curved Super AMOLED display with full-HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, alongside with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 410 GPU. It includes a 32GB of built-in storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card.

Much like Galaxy A5 and A7 2016, the Galaxy A9 2016 sports a fingerprint sensor underneath the physical home button. It is equipped with a 13-megapixel camera at the rear with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and LED flash, while it bears an 8-megapixel selfie camera at the front. Connectivity options included are Bluetooth 4.1, Wifi, 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, and GPS. It is fuelled by a 4000mAh battery with fast charging support.
