Rooting is one of the most important thing people consider after buying their Android smartphone.
Android have some limitations and the only way to bypass them is by rooting the phone.

Unlike other Android phones, HTC device are consider one of the toughest and hardest to root. But thankfully, an xda developer has provided a simple one-click root method to simplify the rooting process for many HTC users.

Unlocking bootloader and gaining S-OFF are also consider very important when it comes to accessing and writing boot.img, and installing custom recovery and ROMs on HTC phones.
HTC has provided a simple way for it users to unlock their bootloader online. Although using this method will void warranty, it is the simplest method for noobs.
To unlock your bootloader click here and sign up with your email address, click on unlock bootloader and select your phone model from the list, fill in your phone details and submit. An email will be sent to your registered email account containing a key which you’ll need to flash to your phone.
To root your HTC Android phone, go to this thread and download HTC Quick Root. Make sure you have Android SDK or HTC driver installed on your PC.

Unzip the HTC Quick Root you downloaded to your desktop, go to phone settings and disable “Fastboot”, change your default connection type to “Charge Only” and enable “USB Debugging”, then turn off your phone.
Remove the battery and put it back, go to the Bootloader by pressing the volume down button and power button simultaneously.
After accessing bootloader, plug in your device via USB to PC, open the HTC Quick Root, it should be able to detect your phone, select Universal Exploit and click Root.
That’s all, your phone will restart fully rooted. To check if your phone is indeed rooted, install Root Validator to confirm.
