Meanwhile, international flight passengers including those coming from any ECOWAS country will pay $100 from the initial $50 paid before.

The reason for the increase is because the overhead cost of operation has increased and money is needed for it to function.

MD/CEO of FAAN, Rabiu Yadudu made the announcement at their headquarters in Abuja and stated that airlines have been informed.

FAAN also expressed readiness and adequate preparation for the resumption of international flights in the country on the 29th of August 2020.

FAAN CEO, Rabiu Yadudu says they will improve on the already existing COVID-19 safety protocol arrangement at the airports.

He says, for now, no signal on which flight will land on Saturday but they are certain of the Middle East countries like Dubai signaling them on their readiness for business.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika has relocated to Enugu state following the plan to reopen the Akanu Ibiam International Airport on the 30th of August.

The reason for the relocation is to monitor the ongoing work contractors are doing at the airport to make sure they are up to standard.
The minister also assured that by Sunday, flight operations will begin at the airport.

The government had in August 2019, shutdown the Akanu Ibiam International Airport because of the dilapidated runway at the airport.
