Nigeria’s Population Estimated At 206 Million – NPC

The National Population Commission says Nigeria’s population is currently estimated at 206 million.

The Chairman of the NPC, Nasir Kwarra, said this at a public interview on the beginning of the following Enumeration Area Demarcation in Abuja on Tuesday.

Kwarra said since Nigeria had not had the option to hold a census over the most recent 14 years, it is hard to know the specific population of the nation.

He stated, “without a genuine census, we officially do projections and we have from the start been doing our projections and we gauge that starting at 2020, the assessed population of Nigeria 206 million.”

The NPC supervisor said the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), had the sole option to report the following census.

Kwarra added that he was sure that Buhari would do the needful soon.
