I will be showing you how you can restrict others users on Facebook from finding you through your phone number. You may ask, how can people find you on Facebook via your phone number? It is quite simple, all the person need to do is to insert your phone number in the Facebook search box and Facebook will bring up your name and your profile.

Facebook have become more flexible and easier to use as it provide a simple-to-understand interface that thoroughly guide users through the whole platform.
The settings menu has also been simplified; this makes it easier to enable or disable features depending on users preference. But only few users know that people can locate and find them on Facebook by entering their phone numbers.
It does not sound like a bad thing, but if you are using Facebook strictly for communicating with your business partners or for chatting with your family, then you’ll find it uncomfortable for any person or stranger that has your phone number to find and contact you on Facebook.
Facebook make it easy for people to find each other on its platform, but you can minimize this if you want to keep your contact low. Below is a step by step guide on how you can prevent people or other Facebook users from locating you on Facebook via your phone number:
Step 1
Go to https://mbasic.facebook.com and login with your username and password to sign in. You’ll be lead to your homepage or newsfeed
Step 2
Scroll down to the bottom and click “Settings and Privacy”
Step 3
In the settings and privacy menu, locate “Privacy settings” and click on it
Step 4
Under privacy settings, select “who can look you up using the phone number you provided”
Step 5
Four options will be listed, these are:
- Everyone – anyone can find you via your phone number on Facebook
- Friends of friends – only the friends of your added friends can find you via your phone number
- Friends – only your added friends can find you
- Only me – no one can find you via your phone number
Select “Only me” from the options if you want to restrict people from finding you through your phone number.
