Sometimes you feel unable to do anything, not even get up from the sofa. Other times, you can’t concentrate, because your mind is constantly switched to other, sometimes irrelevant things.
Motivation is what makes us do a particular job, something that stimulates us to do something. Motivation is also understood as the process of increasing or gaining it. We have gathered a few tips that may be useful to you when you can’t do anything.
- Cut off your escape routes
Do you have a big goal that could affect your whole life? Burn your bridges behind you. Make sure you have no choice but to move forward. Moving, quitting your job, leaving university, or enrolling in college all have a big impact on our lives. The conditions around you force you to move on. This is a conscious increase in motivation. If bridges are not burned, you know there are ways to retreat, but once you lose them, you realize that you have to do whatever it takes not to miss your chance.

- Surround the space with motivational symbols
Motivational posters and screensavers, reminders on your phone, and notes left to yourself. The more often you bring up a cherished goal, the more you will be inspired to achieve it.
- Visualize success
Visualization is best done in a relaxed mood, with music that inspires and energizes. It is enough to devote only 15-20 minutes a day to this activity. Imagine yourself achieving your goals, and enliven this image with vivid colors and vivid embodiment. When imagining, one should see oneself as if from the outside, not from one’s own body. This is important so that the subconscious mind identifies the goal as the one to be achieved rather than the one already achieved. This exercise is a great way to start a new day.
- Make sure the goal is yours
Nothing will drain your energy as much as trying to go after a goal that someone else has set for you and that you don’t believe in. Think about the difference between the effort you have to make to go up the mountain compared to the effort you have to make to go down the mountain.
You go uphill when you pursue a goal that someone has set before you. You have to force yourself.
You go down the mountain when the goal is yours. You are pulled towards it by gravity, and inspiration and motivation arise on their own.
- Do what you enjoy most
You need to set goals that you get excited about.
If you are not satisfied with the results you have achieved, take time to think about why this is the case and what to do about it. It may be that you are working on the right project, you have taken advantage of the right opportunity, but the way you have chosen is not the right one.
- Surround yourself with enthusiastic people
Other people can either dampen your enthusiasm and motivation or help keep it going. Make friends with people who will encourage and challenge you to achieve your goals.
- Focus on your current reality
Imagine that you are currently working for someone and your goal is your own business. How do you act to improve your life right now? Look at the following two scenarios:
Scenario one: you wake up, go to work you hate and then come home, read magazines or watch TV until it’s time for bed.
Second scenario: you wake up earlier than usual and use that extra hour to work on your goal of starting your own business. Then you go to work, come home, get some rest and go to bed early to repeat the process the next day.
By following the second scenario, you will be filled with motivation and enthusiasm each new day because you started it with your dream.
- Develop new habits
Sometimes the smallest changes in life produce the biggest results. When you start going to the gym, recording a video, or practicing singing, consistency and repetition are key. If there’s no way you can finish a project, just start doing some small activities every day, even if it only takes you five minutes. Remember that small actions can lead to meaningful results.
- Make a to-do list
Sometimes you have so much to do that you can’t bear to start just one – you get lost. A to-do list can help you solve such a problem. A to-do list can help you solve this problem – divide tasks into priorities and those that you can delegate. For example, you can concentrate on your goal, and entrust your academic assignment to a writing essay service that will do it in a high-quality way.
- Comfort is our enemy
A little comfort is good, but you can’t go too far, or we’ll get used to that comfortable, protected bubble. Sitting at home on the sofa, watching videos on social media, and eating pizza 7 days a week may seem satisfactory, but it’s no way to grow into the person you want to become. To do great things and stay motivated, you have to constantly step outside your comfort zone. This requires bravery.
