Motorola has officially launched Moto Z2 Play, the company’s latest smartphone in the “Moto” series. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD display; is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon processor; sports 12MP and 5MP cameras, and is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery.

The phone is 5.99mm thick making it one of the slimmest in the Moto line-up. It is nano-coated to repel water and right on top of its home button is a multifunctional fingerprint sensor that can be use to quickly unlock the phone, navigate within screens, access recent apps with one swipe right gesture, while a tap on it will directly lead users back to home screen.

The Moto Z2 Play is as modular as its predecessor, along with it Motorola has introduced four new Moto Mods: Moto GamePad that transforms it into a mobile gaming console; JBL SoundBoost 2 that enhances and increase the audio volume output with up to 10 hours of music playback; Moto TurboPower Pack that extend and maximize the battery life with fast charging supports, and Moto Style Shell that adds wireless charging feature with supports of fast charging as well.

It is worth mentioning that the Moto Z2 Play runs Google’s latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and it also comes with a USB Type-C port.

The phone comes with a starting price of US$499. It will first go on sale in Brazil starting today for R$ 1,999 (US$616) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version. Other regions are expected to follow later this month.

The GamePad, JBL SoundBoost 2 and TurboCharge Pack Moto Mods are priced at US$79.99 while the Moto Style Shell costs US$39.99.
