Besides its Windows 10 powered Aspire Switch 12 S convertible tablet, Acer also launched a new Chrome-powered laptop dubbed Chromebook 11 (CB3-131). It is made of a tough solid material for durability and protection against external forces. According to Acer, the device can withstand up to 60kg of downward force on the lid. The corners can also tolerate up to 60cm drops without damage. Despite its solidity and tough nature the laptop is still able to maintain a mere thickness of 18.6mm and weighs just 1.1kg.
In terms of specifications, the Chromebook 11 features an 11.6-inch HD (1366 x 728 pixel) non-glare display with Acer Comfyview technology that protects against eye strain. It is driven by an Intel Celeron processor and comes in two versions; 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, and 4GB RAM with 32GB storage. The notebook have Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11ac (dual-band), HDMI port, USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port, and SD card reader as connectivity options.

The Acer Chromebook 11 CB3-131 can deliver up to 9 hours of use in a single charge, the company claimed. It will be available in the United States from February at a starting price of $179.99. Other regions are expected to follow.
