Acer is on the front row of companies who are about to made their latest tech invention known to the world at the IFA 2017 event in Berlin. Despite remaining few hours for the event to go live, the company has kick-start the event with the launch of a new Chromebook laptop called Chromebook 15 (2017). This comes with updated specs and in new metal design when compared with previous models.

The laptop lid and chassis are made of metal (aluminium to be precise), and sitting at both sides of its full-sized keyboard are two upward-facing speakers with high-definition audio. It is lighter, weighing just 1.72kg, and super slim with its 378 x 256 x 18.9mm dimensions, thanks to its fanless design.

Moving on, the Chromebook 15 (2017) features a 15.6-inch display with full-HD (1920×1080) resolution and is powered by a dual-core Intel Celeron processor. Acer is also offering a quad-core Intel Pentium model for buyers who wants an increase in speed and multitasking. The laptop is configured with 4GB/8GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage depending on buyers preference.

In connectivity, it has 2x USB 3.0 ports, USB Type-C port (3.1), Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11ac, 3.5mm audio jack, HDMI port, and SD card reader. For video conferencing, there is a HD webcam above the display with 88-degree field-of-view. Battery included can deliver up to 12 hours of usage time, according to company.

The Acer Chromebook 15 2017 edition will be available in the United States from October. Price starts at $399.
