Acer Holo360 and Vision360 Cameras with 360-degree Video Recording Launched

Acer earlier today launched two portable GPS-enabled cameras that are capable of recording 360-degree video, the Holo360 handheld camera and the Vision 360 in-car camera.

The first runs Android 7.1 Nougat operating system and comes equipped with dual 16-megapixel cameras with 1/2.8″ sensors, Sony IMX278 sensors, and 188-degree FOV, each placed at opposite sides of the camera. The Holo360 can capture images in 24MP resolution in addition to its 4K video recording ability.

An embedded 3-inch TFT screen let users preview captured image live and share/stream it directly to supported social networks and video channels, thanks to its inbuilt 4G LTE. Captured image can also be shared to other devices via Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity onboard. The Holo360 camera is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 2GB RAM, and it also has a 16GB of expandable storage. It is fuelled by a 2000mAh battery.

Acer Vision360 In-Car Camera

The Vision360 in-car camera also has dual 6-megapixel cameras with f/2.0 aperture that can
singularly record 1080p video and 4K video when combined. It features a smaller 2.4-inch HVGA (320×240) display and comes with wide range of sensors, including Gyro, Accelerometer, E-compass, Humidity, Temperature, Barometer, Hall effect, and Light.

In a press statement, Acer said:

“When an object collides with the vehicle when it is in motion; the device will trigger a recording that includes GPS coordinates of where the incident occurred, which is not only saved in a secure area on the device’s internal storage, but also uploaded to the cloud for evidence preservation.”

The Vision360 comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor as well. It also have Bluetooth, WiFi, and 4G LTE.

The Acer Holo360 camera will be available in North America from November at $429, and in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) regions in Q4 2017 at €349. No details on pricing of the Vision360.
