Acer has made a big leap by launching its “first affordable Windows 10 laptops” as the firm announced two new device today, the Aspire One Cloudbook 11 and Aspire One Cloudbook 14. The first will start shipping in North America from August with a starting price of $169 USD, while the later will be available from September in the same region at a starting price of $199 USD (#39,700 NGN). The laptops will also be available in Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) at a starting price of EUR 269 and EUR 299 respectively. Specifications and prices are subject to change locally, Acer said.
The Aspire One Cloudbook 11 and Cloudbook 14 both sports identical specifications when compared, the only difference is their screen size. Each packs 11-inch and 14-inch LED-backlit display respectively, with a resolution of 1366 × 768 pixels and 16:9 aspect ratio. They’re powered by Intel Celeron mobile processor clocked at 1.6GHz, paired with 2GB of DDR3L RAM. These comes in two storage variants, 32GB and 64GB, with external storage expansion slot provided (SD card).

The laptops have full-sized chiclet keyboards and touchpads with gesture support. There are two microphones onboard for better voice capture clarity as well. Connectivity included are Wifi 802.11ac (dual band), Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 port, USB 3.0 port, and HDMI port. The Aspire One Cloudbook 11 and Aspire One Cloudbook 14 have a body thickness of 17.99mm, and weigh 1.15kg and 1.60kg, respectively.
