Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

Apple at a special event held in Cupertino, California, today officially pulled the wraps off its next-generation iOS smartphones, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, both of which are here to succeed their predecessors that were launched around this time last year. The phones brings lots of new features along with the major feature being the new powerful A11 Bionic 64-bit hexa-core processor that powered by both device, a notable upgrade from the quad A10 Fusion that powered the iPhone 7 / iPhone 7 Plus.

The new iPhones body are made of glass and metal (aluminium), carved to be slim with the thickest point measuring not more than 7.5mm. The metal and glass combination however, does have a slight effect on their body weight, with the smaller iPhone 8 weighing 148 grams (which is acceptable), while the iPhone 8 Plus is quite hefty at 202 grams. This makes the iPhone 8 Plus the heaviest iPhone ever released (iPhone 7 Plus weighs 188 grams).

As expected, the iPhone 8 features a compact 4.7-inch HD retina display, while the iPhone 8 Plus comes with a larger and more brilliant 5.5-inch full-HD retina display, both supporting Apple 3D Touch, a feature that let users activate or enable certain features depending on pressure applied when tapping the screen. These lacks the new Face ID facial recognition found on iPhone X, but are instead buckled up with Touch ID fingerprint biometric authentication for security.
