Ovulation is that time in a woman cycle where the egg is released from the ovary, and in most cycles, it happens 14 days before the next menstruation.

Now, this is what to do, try to count how many days there are from the day your period began for that month and calculate to the day before your next period. This will help to know how long your cycle is. After determining how long your cycle is, deduct 14 from that number to know what day you will ovulate after your period. For example, If your average menstrual cycle is 28 days, you will ovulate 14 days after your period starts (28-14=14).
Calculating Your Menstrual Cycle
Always note when your period starts because it is the first day of your cycle. Take note also when your next period comes the next month because this when your next cycle begins. Now calculate the days between the two periods to give you the length of your menstrual cycle. Try doing this for a month simply because cycles change most of the time month. Another reason is that it will help know when your cycle is irregular because irregular cycles make it more difficult to calculate your ovulation cycle.
Calculate When Ovulation Starts
If you have a 28-day cycle, then ovulation will occur most likely to occur on day 14 of your cycle. Ovulation happens around 10-14 days before your next period begins, so to get your ovulation date, just deduct 14 from the length of your cycle. (eg. 28 days minus 14 = 14). This means that ovulation will happen 14 days after your period starts.
