BenQ, the Taiwanese company well known for its outstanding monitors has announced a new budget Android smartphone called T55. Though the firm are widely known for its computer accessories and monitors, it seems not to appear on a global scale when it comes to mobile phone production as this is not the first Android device to be release by them.
The T55 is an entry-level smartphone, it features a 5.5-inch IPS capacitive touch display with HD (1280×720) resolution and a pixel density of 267ppi. It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor with a clock speed of 1.3GHz, paired with Mali-T720 GPU. The phone comes in two options, 1GB RAM with 8GB storage and 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, both expandable via MicroSD card.

The device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and offers dual SIM functionality. It is equipped with a 13-megapixel camera at the rear accompanied with a single LED flash, while it bears a 3-megapixel camera at the front. Connectivity options included with T55 are Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, GPS, and Micro-USB. It measures 154.5 x 75.5 x 8.95mm and is backed by a 2900mAh battery.
The BenQ T55 comes in White and Black color variants and will be available in coming weeks. No details regarding pricing.
