Brighton fight back to earn superb draw against Wolves

In what appeared to be an easy win for Nuno Espiranto’s Wolverhamtpon side, Brighton and Hove Albion would summon courage and grit to earn a much needed point, following defeat at Arsenal in their last game.

Brighton had started the game in front foot, with Connolly scoring the game’s first goal in the 13th minute to show up for the early pressure by Brighton.

However, Wolves would respond through a powerful header to level the scores in the 19th minute following a wonderful cross from former Barcelona man, Nelson Semedo.

Wolves  would take the lead in a funny procession of events as D. Burn would score an own goal to grant Wolves the lead.

From then it was all Wolves, with Brighton conceding a penalty in the 44th penalty when D. Burn would bring down powerful Adama Traore in the box.

Ruben Neves would convert the resulting spot kick to send Wolves two goals clear heading into the break.

But that lead would not last long as Moutinho would bring down N. Maupay down in the penalty area, with N. Maupay scoring the resulting penalty sending Rui Patricio the wrong way.

Brighton would continue pressing until a late header from Lewis Dunk in the 70th minute would level the scores between both teams. Brighton would press hard for the win but it was never to come.

Brighton remain in 17th, three points shy of the relegation zone while Wolves sit in 13th position, seven points off the Champions League places, they both play their next match in the FA Cup competition.

With Brighton travelling to face Newport County, while Wolves host Premier League side, Crystal Palace.
