An unknown start-up firm based in India called Docoss, today has introduced a super-cheap Android smartphone that only cost Rs 888 ($13 USD) in India, X1. While the pricing seems too cheap to be true, it is not the only smartphone launched in the region recently to offer what we called “attention-seeking price”. Few months ago (two months to be precise), a firm called Ringing Bells, also originate from India launched a $3.60 USD (Rs 251)smartphone named Freedom 251, though it later turned out to be scam. But then, Docoss may have something good and true under its sleeve, who knows?
The Docoss X1 $13 smartphone specs when compare with Ringing Bells $3 smartphone that later turned out to be scam is very low, both in hardware and software sector, so it might be true. For instance, the X1 packs a dual-core processor and 4GB of built-in storage while Freedom 251 claimed a quad-core processor and 8GB storage, which is fishy enough to be true. Apart from that, the Docoss X1 runs the dated Android 4.4 KitKat while Ringing Bells boasted Android 5.1 Lollipop for its non-existing device.
