Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, has revealed to the House of Reps Committee investigating the NDDC that the former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Joy Nunieh, did not partake in the compulsory one year program of the National Youth Service Corps. He revealed this on Monday also stating that an exemption letter is needed for not partaking in the compulsory NYSC but she had none.
When asked about the scuffle with Nunieh, Akpabio said, “Joi Nunieh was relieved of the when he received a letter from the late chief of staff, Abba Kyari that the required requirements and qualifications to hold that position, she did not possess. He said, for example, they have written a letter on two occasions to the National Youth Service Corps and on two occasions insisted that Joi Nunieh did not partake in the National Youth Service neither does she have an exemption letter. Akpabio added that due to these and other reasons, Nunieh was relieved of duty.

You would recall that Nunieh accused the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment, and also for unlawfully seizing the forensic audit of the NDDC under the order of President Buhari.
The minister has denied these accusations.
Just last week, Joi Nunieh was rescued by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike after some armed policemen allegedly barricaded her house and tried to forcefully breakdown her security entrance door.
