Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro has been officially announced, Huawei latest tier one flagship smartphones, at an event held in Germany as expected today. The two device boasts of high-end specifications and have been significantly upgraded when compared with the 2016 models.
Both are endowed in sleek metal body with 3D glass layer that are less than 8.3mm thick (the Mate 10 Pro is slimmer), and their overall body weight is less than 190 grams. The Mate 10 have a physical home button at the front that harbours a fingerprint scanner, while the Mate 10 Pro fingerprint sensor is placed at the rear as it lacks a physical home key.

The phones are equipped with dual rear-facing cameras, vertically-aligned, centered at the upper rear, with dual-tone LED flash sitting besides them. The camera lenses are made by Leica and both offers 4K video recording. The Mate 10 features a 5.9-inch display, which is 0.1-inch smaller than Mate 10 Pro display, but it comes with a higher pixel resolution of 2560×1440 when compared with its companion Full HD+ (2160×1089) resolution.
The Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro runs Android 8.0 Oreo OS out-of-the-box buttered with EMUI 8.0, which comes baked in with Huawei’s proprietary AI engine that offers real-time text, chats and voice translation, with supports of more than 50 languages. The AI also enhanced the cameras with object recognition functionality and Real-Time Scene. The phones are powered by octa-core Kirin 970 chipsets and are backed by 4000mAh batteries with SuperCharge technology for fast charging.
Only the Mate 10 Pro is water resistant.

The Mate 10 is priced at €699 ($825) and will be available in late October. The Mate 10 Pro 6GB RAM+128GB storage version is priced at €799 ($940) and will be available in mid-November. On the stated dates, the phones go on sale in more than fifteen countries including France, Italy, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia.
At the event, Huawei also launched Porsche Design Mate 10 with distinct premium design. It is themed in Diamond Black and it comes bundled with a custom made leather case. The Porsche Design Mate 10 features the same specs as Mate 10 Pro (it is water resistant too). The phone will be available from mid-November in over twenty countries including Spain, UAE, China, Bahrain and Egypt. It costs €1395 ($1646).
