Huawei has officially announced Watch 2 and Watch 2 Classic, its latest smartwatches at the ongoing MWC event in Barcelona which are the succesor of “Huawei Watch” that was released last year. The new smartwatches has dumped the classic look front style on their predecessor and instead opted for “sport” faces with fairly rugged style. Notably, both runs Google latest Android Wear 2.0 OS.
The main field of attraction on the Watch 2 is its ability to make and receive phone calls without pairing it with a smartphone, this is made possible with an e-SIM card that comes pre-loaded on the device. The smartwatches also has nano SIM slots at the bottom that can accept any network nano SIM card. It is to be noted that the Classic edition doesn’t have built-in e-SIM.
