Is Microsoft Edition of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ a plague to Bixby?

Hours after Samsung officially unveiled its 2017 flagship device, Galaxy S8 and S8+, the Cupertino tech giant Microsoft made it known that it has partnered with the South Korean company to launch a special edition of the device in selected markets.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Microsoft Edition as called, will not be running the long-asleep Windows 10 Mobile operating system as thought, but will instead comes with Microsoft productivity suite such as OneNote, OneDrive, Outlook, Excel, MSN News, Bing, Skype, Cortana, and lots more, in addition to the company’s Office app (PowerPoint and Word). The impact these might have on Samsung’s own apps is one of the major concern, especially on its new virtual assistant “Bixby”, seeing that it is completely new to this whole sort of assistant thing and “may” need to be peck here and there to be perfect. Bixby will have to strive with “Cortana” to win souls on these device, though this actually boils down to users preference. But once a Windows user, a cortana user, will always be a cortana user.

The Galaxy S8 and S8+ Microsoft Edition features same specifications as the standard version besides the changes in apps. The phones are currently available for pre-orders in U.S on Microsoft store at $749.99 and $849.99 respectively. They will start shipping from 21st of April.
