LG Stylus 2 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, 3000mAh Battery Announced

Having launched two X series smartphones on Monday, the Korean tech company LG today has again announced a new flagship device named Stylus 2, the successor of G4 Stylus released last year. While its pricing is yet to be reveal, the phone will start shipping from March in South Korea, followed by the United States, Asia, and other regions. It will be showcase at MWC event in Barcelona next week.

Like its predecessor, the LG Stylus 2 comes with a stylus pen as its name suggest. The new Pen is said to offer more precision and accuracy with its nano-coated tip than rubber-tip in previous pen.

Specwise, the Stylus 2 features a 5.7-inch IPS In-Cell display with a HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels. It is powered by a quad-core processor (unspecified) clocked at 1.2GHz, coupled with 1.5GB (International)/2.0GB (Korea) of RAM. A 16GB of storage is placed inside with external storage support via MicroSD card.

Notably, the Stylus 2 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, making it the first smartphone in LG Stylus series to do so. A 13-megapixel camera with LED flash is equipped at the rear, while it sports a 5-megapixel selfie camera at the front. Connectivity options onboard includes Bluetooth 4.1, Wifi, 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, GPS/A-GPS, and NFC (optional). A 3,000mAh removable battery turn it on.

The device measures 155×79.6×7.4mm and weight just 145 grams. It will be available in three color options, White, Titan and Brown.
