Xiaomi held a special event today in China where it unveiled its much anticipated smartphones, the Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20. The K20 Pro is a flagship in every aspect – from the display to processor to camera and battery capacity, all are well tender for and should satisfy the requirement of most smartphone buyers. The K20 strictly follows the K20 Pro footsteps in almost all aspects besides the processor and camera.
The duo are basically the same, even in body design, weight and dimensions. While the Redmi K20 Pro opted for Qualcomm top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 7nm chipset, the Redmi K20 settled for a lower (but “newer” nonetheless) Snapdragon 730 chipset. The RAM and storage configuration differs between the two mobile as well; the later is accompanied by up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage, while the former comes with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

Triple camera reside on the phones back – 48MP f/1.75 main camera, secondary 8MP f/2.4 telephoto lens, and tertiary 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide angle lens. The “Pro model” used a Sony IMX586 sensor for its main camera, while the non-pro model used a Sony IMX582 sensor, their major difference. Elevating mechanism housed the 20MP front cameras of the device. Xiaomi said the mechanism have been tested over 300,000 times.
The Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 features 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, have optical in-display fingerprint sensors for biometric security, support dedicated dual SIM, and are fuelled by 4000mAh batteries with 27W/18W fast charging.

Update (July 17, 2019) – Launched in India
Huawei today introduced the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro in India few weeks after they were unveiled in China. The phones will be arriving to Flipkart and Mi stores on July 22nd, where interested buyers will be able to purchase the Redmi K20 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB versions for Rs 21,999 (US$308) and Rs 23,999 (US$336), respectively, and the Redmi K20 Pro 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB versions for Rs 27,999 (US$392) and Rs 30,999 (US$434), respectively. Free hard case is bundled in the box.
