Galaxy Folder Flip 2015 Edition

Samsung has launched its first flip Android smartphone in 2015 in Korea called Galaxy Folder. The device was unveiled on Tuesday, carrying a price tag of KRW 297,000 ($256 USD). The firm however doesn’t made known its intention of releasing it to global market.

The new Samsung Galaxy Folder clamshell smartphone is 2015 edition of Galaxy Folder that was launched back in 2013. It features a 3.8-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) resolution and also includes a traditional T9 keypad. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM.

The phone runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box and houses an 8GB of built-in storage which can be further expanded via MicroSD card (up to 128GB). The Galaxy Folder flip packs an 8-megapixel autofocus camera at the rear accompanied with LED flash, while it bears a 2-megapixel camera at the front. Connectivity options included are Bluetooth, Wifi, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, GPS, GLONASS, and Micro-USB. A 1800mAh battery turn on the device.

Earlier this month, a high-end Samsung flip smartphone with model name SM-G9198 was leaked online, the device was spotted on TENAA packing a Snapdragon 808 processor, 16-megapixel camera and 4G LTE, but since then nothing has been heard regarding it.
