Samsung at the Intel Worldwide Launch Event in Beijing today announced a new gaming laptop for the consumer market, the Notebook Odyssey Z. The device, which weighs less than 2.5kg, is aimed at high-profile gaming class for direct unrestricted gaming on-the-go with its portable ergonomics design that reflects in its structural and hardware arrangement.
Gaming laptops are known to be prone to heat, Samsung knowing this said in its official press release that it has use the state-of-the-art engineering and advanced thermal management to ensure a breathtaking gaming experience. The company further revealed that the Notebook Odyssey Z thermal management utilize a built-in “Z AeroFlow Cooling System” that consist of three parts; Dynamic Spread Vapor Chamber, Z AeroFlow Cooling design, and Z Blade Blower.

These ensure that the heat generated by the CPU and GPU at the hottest part above and beneath the compartments are quenched by the cold air fanned by the two built-in Z Blade Blowers, aided by the Z Aero Cooling system through the Vapor Chamber, which are expelled through the air vent.
The keyboard sports crater keycaps for enhanced precision and is backlit, while the touchpad is located on the far-right for desktop-like experience.
Technically, the Notebook Odyssey Z is powered by Intel’s Core i7-7700HQ 8th-gen hexa-core processor with hyper-threading supports, coupled with 6GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics, up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM (2400MHz), and 1TB of SSD for fast-paced game loading and windows booting. The display is set at 15.6-inch, flaunting a Full HD (1920×1080) resolution.
In terms of connectivity, the laptop supports USB Type-C, 2x USB 3.0 ports, USB 2.0 port, HDMI port, DC-in, and HP/Mic. It have dual 1.5W speaker, HD webcam, and drawn its power from a 54Wh battery.
The Samsung Notebook Odyssey Z will hit Korea, China and other select Asia markets in April. U.S availability is scheduled for Q3 2018.
