At the IFA 2017, Sony announced a new wireless speaker with 360-degree omni-directional sound output called LF-S50G. It is here to compete with Amazon Echo’s and Google Home smart speakers that has already dominated global markets.
The LF-S50G comes baked-in with Google Assistant, giving users wide range of features to ease their daily living. With Google Assistant, users will be available to set alarm, scheduled a meeting, check traffic and weather updates, check latest news and sport stories headlines and do many more via voice command. The speaker also have Gesture Control feature that lets users change tracks, pause/play audio and high/lowered the volume by waving hand at close proximity.

For deep bass and clear 360-degree sound outputs, the LF-S50G is loaded with two-way facing speaker, bass reflect duct and two-stage diffuser. Audio can be stream directly from Bluetooth enabled devices to the speaker via its Bluetooth 4.2 feature, and it also has one-touch NFC pairing to connect with NFC enabled devices. It has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n as well.
It has a digital LED clock at the center of its cylindrical shape body design that reflects in the dark, which can be dim or turn off via an option provided.
The Sony LF-S50G comes in Black, Grey, and Blue color preference. Price starts at $200 in the U.S and it will go on sale in the said region in October. It will be available in Europe for €230 and in the U.K for £200.
