The South Korean tech giant, Sony, today has introduced a pocket-size compact laser projector in India dubbed MP-CL1. The device was announced globally in Q3 2015 but has finally arrive to India. It is priced at Rs 26,990 ($391 USD) and will be available starting this week at retail stores across the region.
The MP-CL1 can projects an image or video of 40-inch (at a distance of 1.15m) to 120-inch (at a distance of 3.45m) on a wall with HD (1920×720 pixels) resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio and 80,000:1 contrast ratio, ranging from an average brightness of 32 Lumens up to 37 Lumens. The projector supports the use of both wired via HDMI port and MHL 2.2 port, and wireless via WiFi 802.11ac dual band connectivity to connect to its source in streaming contents and projecting it directly on the wall.

It comes with a single 1.0W built-in speaker and has a 3.5mm audio jack for listening pleasure. Besides it primary task, the MP-CL1 built-in battery, rated at 3,400mAh, can be use to charge other portable handheld USB enabled devices such as mobile phones, bluetooth speakers e.t.c. A separate Micro-USB port onboard allow user to charge up the battery. According to Sony, the battery can deliver up to 120 minutes of continuous projection in a single charge.
The Sony MP-CL1 measures 7.0 x 149.5 x 13.0mm and weighs just 210 grams. It comes in Black color option only.
