The UNTH internship 2020 is open for fresh graduate medical officers, nurses, pharmacists and other allied medical staff. All suitably qualified applicants should follow the instructions to apply. We will publish the unth internship list 2020 once its out.

The University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) Ituku/Ozalla Enugu began early in the 20th century as a standard general Hospital for Africans built by the colonial administrators. It later metamorphosed into a general hospital on the attainment of Nigeria’s independence in the 1960’s. However, at the end of the Nigerian civil war in 1970, the then government of East Central State transformed it into a Specialist Hospital with effect from July 1, 1970. By decree number 23 of 1974, the Federal Military Government took over the hospital, but left the management in the hands of the Council of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
The University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital became in dependent in July 1976 with the appointment of autonomous Management Board.
UNTH Internship Requirements and Qualifications
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment for a one year Internship post with the capacity below:
1. Nurse Intern
Location: Enugu
Qualifications/Experience
- Candidates must possess a B.Sc. Degree in Nursing from a recognized University and must have registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
- Please Note: Candidates who do not have their Statements of Result and Current Practising Licences should not apply.
2. Dental Technology Intern
Location: Enugu
Qualifications/Experience
- Candidates must possess a Higher National Diploma in Dental Technology from a recognized Institution.
- Please Note: Candidates who do not have their Statements of Result and Current Practising Licences should not apply.
3. Dental Therapy Intern
Location: Enugu
Qualifications/Experience
- Candidates must possess a Higher National Diploma in Dental Therapy from a recognized Health Institution.
- Please Note: Candidates who do not have their Statements of Result and Current Practising Licences should not apply.
4. Nutrition & Dietetics Intern
Location: Enugu
Qualifications/Experience
- Candidates must possess a B.Sc. Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized University.
- Please Note: Candidates who do not have their Statements of Result and Current Practising Licences should not apply.
5. Medical Laboratory Scientist Intern
Location: Enugu
Qualifications/Experience
- Candidates must possess a Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognized University and must have registered with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Please Note: Candidates who do not have their Statements of Result and Current Practising Licences should not apply.
6. Intern Radiographer
Location: Enugu
Qualifications/Experience
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Radiography (B.Rad) from a recognized University or any other equivalent qualification and must have registered with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN).
- Please Note: Candidates who do not have their Statements of Result and Current Practising Licences should not apply.
7. Physiotherapy Intern
Location: Enugu
Qualifications/Experience
- Candidates must possess Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized University and must have registered with the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria (MRTRBN).
- Please Note: Candidates who do not have their Statements of Result and Current Practising Licences should not apply.
8. Pharmacy Intern
Location: Enugu
Qualifications/Experience
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized University and must have registered with the Pharmacists Registration Board of Nigeria (PRBN).
- Please Note: Candidates who do not have their Statements of Result and Current Practising Licences should not apply.
9. House Officer
Location: Enugu
Qualifications/Experience
- Candidates must possess any of the following (i) MB.BS (ii) M.B.B.CH or its equivalent from a recognized University and must have registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria(MDCN).
- Please Note: Candidates who do not have their Statements of Result and Current Practising Licences should not apply.

Referees’ Report
Names of three referees should be given and they should be asked by the candidates to forward their reports direct to the above address.
