Xiaomi has officially announced Mi 5X, the company’s latest mid-flagship smartphone today at an event in China. It features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, packs an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, sports a 5MP front camera, and is backed by a 3080mAh battery.
The new successor of Mi 5 runs MIUI 8.0 based on Android 7.1 Nougat, Xiaomi however promise to roll out MIUI 9 update later in the future. For now, it is not clear if the MIUI 9 will be based on Android O or it will still retail the Nougat tag. Much like other flagships that are being launch these days, the Mi 5X comes equipped with dual 12MP rear cameras for great photo capture. Below the cameras is a fingerprint sensor for smart security and authentication.
