Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 Appears with Windows 10 and 8GB RAM, Set for Dec 30

Xiaomi have something pretty to unleash before 2016 is over according to a new report reaching us today. The company is set to launch a new tablet under its “Mi Pad portfolio”, the third to be precise. The Mi Pad existence began in 2014 when Xiaomi announced the first edition which happened to be world’s first device to use Nvidia Tegra K1 processor. In late 2015, the firm launched the Mi Pad second edition, flaunting same display size as the first but packed a less powerful Intel Atom chipset. Now, the third edition is here.

According to specs that surface online, the Mi Pad 3 as named will features same 7.9-inch display with 2048×1536 pixel resolution as its predecessor. It will however be powered by a seventh-generation dual-core Intel Core M3-7Y30 processor with 2.6GHz clock speed, and there will be Intel HD Graphics 615 onboard to take care of the graphics. The most notable feature of the upcoming device is its 8GB RAM capacity, the first of its kind in tablet section of the companiescompany’s products. It is also expected to come in 128GB and 256GB built-in storage options.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 is said to runs Windows 10 out-of-the-box, but we won’t be surprise if Android version magically appears on stage during its launch. Other specs rumoured includes 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, 8-megapixel front camera, front-placed ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and USB Type-C. The tablet will be backed by an 8290mAh battery with fast charging support.

The 128GB storage variant will be priced at CNY 1999 ($288 USD) and the 256GB storage variant at CNY 2299 ($330 USD). We can’t wait for December 30 to come.
