Xiaomi has introduced the fourth edition of its Mi Smart Band in India at a special event tagged “Smarter Living” hosted by the firm earlier today. The Mi Smart Band 4 as called, can track steps, walk, sleep, calories burnt and other fitness exercise just like other smart bands available in the market. Apart from its tracking abilities, the band can also monitor the heart rate of the wearer via its inbuilt heart rate sensor located at the bottom, and Photoplethysmography (PPG).
The wearable features an 0.95-inch AMOLED display that is 39.9% larger in size compared to its predecessor. The display have 120×240 pixel resolution, 400 nits brightness, and 2.5D scratch resistant protection. The larger screen estate improve the viewing experience as more data can be viewed without users fumbling around. Seventy seven different watch faces comes pre-installed out-of-the-box.
Furthermore, the Mi Smart Band 4 is suitable for swimming, thanks to its 5ATM certification, which enables it to be able to survive up to 50 meters deep under the water. Swimmers will find the smart stroke recognition especially useful as it can track swimming as well. The device can be paired with smartphones via its built-in Bluetooth 5.0 LE to receive incoming calls and text notifications, in addition to its pre-installed sedimentary reminder.
When paired with a smartphone, it can be used to control music playback, including pause, next, or play the current playlist on the phone. Other sensors onboard are 6-axis accelerometer, 6-axis gyro, and wear monitoring sensor. It weighs just 22.1 grams. The 135mAh Li-Po battery that powered it can deliver up to 20 days of usage time, according to Xiaomi.
The Mi Smart Band 4 is offered in Black color only, but you get the choice to select between Violet, Purple, and Orange straps when purchasing one. It costs Rs 2299 (US$32) and will be available from September 19th on Amazon India and Mi online and offline stores.
